Autobiography

Hello, I’m Sian Cuffy-Young, founder, CEO, Principal Consultant, and dare I say, the brains behind this operation. The idea behind Siel Environmental was years in the making. As a child, I always had a fondness for nature and the environment and I’m happy to say that I’ve passed that admiration on to my own children. But it was one particularly peculiar and unpleasant encounter as a child that would propel me into a career of 15 plus years in environmental management. It was the day that I’d spent with my father and siblings at the beach and swam headfirst into a loaded pamper.
Yes, I know, sometimes your passion finds you in the strangest of ways, but I am grateful for that day because it is what has directed me to my true calling. To say that I am passionate about waste and waste education would be a great understatement. It is all-encompassing. It consumes me, so much so that in 2015 I took a leap of faith and started a company that allows me to blend my passion for waste with my love of teaching.
Siel Environmental is a social enterprise that focuses on changing the way consumers and organisations think about waste. Through this website and our exciting initiatives, we are creating a platform that allows us to teach others about the benefits of waste and to ultimately shift the public’s perception to one that views waste as a valuable resource.
Our company continues to grow through our network of partners and community members who I have dubbed “the Eco Heroes” and we have so much more in store. I’m so excited that you’re here and we hope you’d stick around so we can continue sharing our passion for waste and sustainability with you.
